Thread Hens: Party Packages
Thread Den's hen parties are just the treat for a bride-to-be and her gal pals for a pre-wedding stitch 'n' bitch session. Choose from Thread Den's fabulous hen's packages (below), or let us quote you on a customised project of your own, and enjoy some quality girlfriend time in a fun, relaxed setting where you can make a handmade memento of the day.
Classes range from 2-3 hours and they're hosted by one of our very lovely, and highly skilled teachers who will have you stitching and sewing your garment in no time. We can provide all the materials or you can bring your own.
If you'd like to bring nibbles, bubbles and tunes, we'll provide champagne flutes, cake stands and CD player to help you get the party started. We're right in the heart of Fitzroy, so when the class ends at Thread Den, you can party on into the wee small hours at the many restaurants, bars and clubs in the area.
We can host a party for 6-10 hens, or more if you're happy to share sewing machines. Prices start from just $45 per head.
Girls Night Garters
Make a fabulous garter to match your outfit and have a sassy, cute little secret wrapped around your pretty leg on the big day!
You'll use a combination of machine sewing and hand stitching to make your garter, and we'll provide a selection of trims, laces, ribbons, beads and jewels to make the sweetest garter you'll ever own. Feel free to bring along any special trinkets you'd like to add to it.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Cost: $55 per head with all materials provided.
Suzie Home Maker 1950s Apron
Using our vintage style apron pattern and adorable cotton fabrics, stitch and sew this delightful little Suzie Home Maker number to look cute in the kitchen.
Thread Den can provide all of the materials for a fuss-free evening or you can bring your own if you've got a specific fabric in mind.
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: $70 per head with all materials provided..
Sweet Dreams Sleep Masks
You'll be the belle of the bedroom with one of these gorgeous sleep masks over your peepers. Nothing makes a bride more beautiful than a good nights sleep and this cute little customised sleep mask will help lull you off to the land of nod for some essential beauty sleep.
Thread Den will provide a variety of fabrics to choose from to make your sleep mask. If you want something a little fancy, why not bring along some bows, lace or jewels to add to it?
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $49 per head with all materials provided / $44 per head if participants bring along their own materials.
Remake, Refashion
If you've got your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, but one of them doesn't quite look right, this is the perfect class to make it fit for a bride.
Bring in your garment and let one of our fabulously skilled designers help you to refashion your hidden treasure.

An Era of Glamour Makeup Party
Choose your favourite era and learn how to create your personal glamorous look with one of Thread Den's own makeup artists. Watch demonstrations on three lovely hens before using your own makeup to create a unique vintage look. Step into our photo studio and get some great pics before heading out on the town for a great night out!
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: from $59-$65 per head depending on class size and requirements.
Please bring along: your own make up and fake lashes if you would like to use them.
Sewing Soirees & Crafternoons with your Besties
Our sewing lounge is the perfect space for you and your best pals to get together for a good ol’ chitchat and glass of bubbles while learning a new skill.
Get your friends together, bring a bottle and some nibbles and you’re on your way to a few hours of kiddie-free fun and quality time with the friends you love the most.
This can be an intimate gathering from just four people up to nine for a sewing session or even more for crafting affair.
Choose from one of our existing classes or ask us to help you plan your own custom class. The minimum booking size is four people.
Crafty Kids Parties
Kids and craft go together like peas and carrots so why not book your little one and their friends in for a party like no other where they’ll have lots of fun creating their crafty masterpiece.
We have skilled craft teachers on hand who will encourage your kid’s creative bones to grow big and strong.
We have lots of workshops for kids including Softies, Fun & Funky Brooches, Pom Poms a Plenty and a whole lot more. See here for a list of kids’ projects that Thread Den currently offers or contact us to create a custom class for your little one’s party.
Minimum booking size is for four children but we can cater for much more!
Oh Baby! Baby Showers
Thread Den's baby shower and baby blessing events are a uniquely special way to wish the mother-to-be on her merry way into motherhood, by creating a delightful string of bunting with hidden keepsakes for the baby.
Each guest sews a bunting pocket, which is then strung together and draped in the baby's room. Guests can pop something special into their bunting pocket, such as a handwritten message, trinket, or precious keepsake for each birthday or special milestone.
The party-planner, mother-to-be or each individual guest can bring along their choice of fabrics and trims to make something that baby will love for all their days.
