Description

You don't need to stretch the truth to know that sewing with stretch and knit fabrics can be quite tricky. In this class you will learn tips and tricks for successful sewing with stretch, with a particular focus on using overlocker and coverstitch machines alongside a regular sewing machine. After you have been armed with the necessary skills you will complete a basic t-shirt.

Please Note:

Students enrolling in this class from August onwards should not purchase fabrics prior to thefirst class. Fabric selection will be discussed in the first session to help you choose the correct fabric type, to be purchased prior to the second class.

To the second class you will need to bring along:

For the Women's style T-shirt (fitted, as pictured): 1.5m of cotton rib or cotton elastane jersey (please ensure this is a 2 way stretch fabric). For the Men's style T-shirt (loose fit): 1m x 1.5m of cotton t-shirt fabric.
